Butterfly caterpillars….

Well, the orange ones seem to clearly be Gulf Coast Fritillaries, but the adult butterfly that I snapped a pic of doesn’t match. It looks similar to a Painted Lady or Monarch, but the pattern is different. I haven’t located any pictures yet to match up with this guy to ID what this butterfly breed happens to be. The caterpillars have been munching on passion vine. I’m wondering what happened to the darker looking one. I t seems to have molted, rather than pupated into a chrysalis. It’s not where it was the other day, so is probably one of the larger caterpillars now just munching away until it can properly pupate.
